2025.11 Field trip to Türkiye, Azerbaijan
From early to mid-November 2025, Senior Research Fellow Mayu Kaneko visited Türkiye and Azerbaijan as part of the project “The Role of Japanese Diplomacy in the Middle East and Eurasia.” In Ankara, Istanbul, and Baku, Kaneko met with experts and exchanged views on Türkiye’s domestic situation, including economic conditions; Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations; and developments in the Middle East. Kaneko also visited Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) on the anniversary of Atatürk’s death. In Azerbaijan, Kaneko visited the Military Trophies Park.
